How Does Direct Primary Care Work?
Since arriving on the healthcare scene in the mid 2000s, direct primary care has grown in popularity. As health insurance gets increasingly confusing, expensive, and frustrating, new models of care are rising. Patients without health insurance, or those fed up with paying skyrocketing monthly premiums, are turning to direct primary care as an option to afford basic medical care.
Meet The Doctor
Peter Walton, M.D.
Dr Walton received his medical education and training in Houston, Texas. After completing Emergency Medicine residency in 1997 he moved to the Tampa Bay area and continued as a staff ED physician for Mease Hospitals (Now BayCare), until 2002 when he transitioned to Primary Care in the Westchase area of Tampa.
For almost twenty years he was a business owner and solo practitioner in a successful practice that grew in both patient volume and diversity of services. He was also nominated for Angies List in 2008.
Dr Walton remains board certified in Emergency Medicine, has 20 years experience in Primary Care, and is proud of his solid reputation in the community.
